Eventful holiday =)

Had a pretty eventful day on Friday..went ice-skating with hubby, bro, sis-in-law and a cousin at the Kallang Leisure park in the late afternoon..only went in to skate at 5pm coz waited for our cousin who had a prior appointment at 3pm.

Paid for our tickets, skates and gloves at the entrance before going in, total abt $20 for 2 hrs of skating. Took our skates from the counter and proceeded to the side benches to put them on...boy, the ice-skating rink was really crowded!..there were people sitting on the side benches and lots of others standing along the railing of the rink with their skates on..expected on a public holiday I guess..hehe..

Hubby and I used to go ice-skate together during our poly days..so we are quite familiar with the sport, though we used to go to the one at the Jurong Entertainment centre at Jurong East, which has been demolished to be built into a new building..I still prefer the one at Jurong coz the rink is much bigger and it has a small cafe for pple to sit and eat some snack while they rest..the Kallang one is small and it only has a vending machine for you to buy hot and cold drinks..looks kinda sad to me, and the interior looks old too =x

Anyway, though we both know how to ice-skate, hubby is definitely much better than me..i'm just a notch higher than a novice: can skate but cannot brake kind..haha =p As for my bro, sis-in-law and cousin, they were all 1st time ice-skating but all had abit of experience with roller-blading, so not that bad..hehe

After 2 hours of skating, we proceeded to Tampines as hubby was meeting one of his friends to collect some 2nd hand PS3 games he is buying, and went for dinner at the Manpuku Japanese Gourmet Town in Tampines 1. Hubby and I decided to settle for the fried food section: pork cutlet and chicken cutlet..bad choice, coz the staff screwed up the orders and the order numbers jumped all over the place..and we realised that if you just stand there quietly to wait for your food, your turn may never come so gotta ask the staff and they will then work on your orders.. =_= and the food was quite bland, shld have just ordered the sushi set instead...haiz.. =x

After trying to finish the tasteless food, decided to make-up to ourselves with their dessert fruit tarts..which is really nice as usual!..hehe..had the mango tart and bought the earl grey tea at $1 with any tart purchased..nice!! =D

Walked around Tampines 1 after dinner and then to Ikea coz we wanted to get some tables to elevate the guinea pigs' cage so that we can store their stuff underneath the tables, making it much neater as well..so got on the shuttle bus and to Ikea..reached there around 9+ and the place is still as crowded! Started to look for table options and shortlist some before making our decision. Went for their $1 hotdogs thereafter..it's a must-have after shopping at Ikea!..haha..they have a family meal now: 4 hotdogs and 4 drinks at $7 only!!..pretty good deal ya?..hehe..took a cab home after that, the taxi queue was pretty long and most cabs that turned in are on call, so we decided to call for cabs too..coz dunno when will an empty cab come in oso.

Worked on the table with hubby after we got home and we had it done within half an hour, fast right?..hehe

And for today, went to catch the 'Resident Evil' movie with hubby, mother, bro and sis-in-law at Causeway point..its a pretty nice show, so can go watch if you like this kind of shows but best if you have watched the previous series so that you can understand it better =)

That's all for this post..and as for my bro's ROM photos..I still haven't managed to get the photos from him coz he has not gotten the original soft copies from the photographer so no photos as yet, hehe.. =p
