Today's '人日' so here's wishing everyone 'happy birthday!'..hehee
Some updates on my CNY..
06 Feb (CNY Eve)
Took half day leave to get a full day off..hehe..made our way to JB with my family in the afternoon for the reunion dinner at my grandma's place. The checkpoints were pretty alrite, there weren't too many pple so we were out of there quite fast. Couldn't find a cab initially as most of them not willing to take us as our destination was rather short-distance, whereas they wanna go places further..so came across some eating place & decided to have something to eat 1st. My dad, mom & bro ordered the 'wanton mee' while I had the 'chee cheong fan' since I wasn't that hungry to have noodles..guess how much the noodles cost?..RM$4.50!! Even though its still cheap after conversion but don't you think its expensive from the locals' perspective?..and there isn't much 'liao' in it lor..juz noodles, veggies, a few char siew and 3 or 4 wantons in a soup..wat a rip off -_-
Anyway, after finishing the food, we managed to get a cab and reached my grandma's place within 15mins' time. After we got there, did lotsa catching-up with cousins whom I only get to see once or twice a year while waiting for the steamboat to be ready. =)
We usually take turns to have the dinner coz there aren't enough seats to accomodate everyone, so whoever is hungry can eat 1st but we usually let the uncles have theirs 1st. After dinner, we watched abit of TV and chatted somemore..and made our way back to Singapore around 9+, went to bed early coz gotta wake up early the next day to go back to JB again for 初一
07 Feb （初一）
Woke up early at 7am to wash up and get ready to make our way back to JB..was hoping that the human jam at the M'sia checkpoint won't be as bad as last yr's. When we got there, the queue was still as long =( No choice but to queue and wait for our turn..But this time round, it's much better as took us within an hour to get through and the crowd is much more disciplined..no crowding ard to cut queues or elbow-to-elbow kind of squeezing, what a relief!
Took a cab to my grandma's place and after wishing everyone happy new year, we started to take photos amongst the cousins, and bluetooth-ing to one another..haha..quite fun, will be posting the photos soon..hehe.
Made our way back to Singapore in the afternoon to go over to my maternal grandma's place where all my aunties and uncles will gather. When we got there, they were already playing black jack, its like a tradition we had, one of my auntie will be the banker and the cousins will sit around in a circle to place their bets, including myself..hehe..think I have better luck this year..coz for the past years, i seldom win money, i either get back my capital or lose abit..for this year, i managed to win about $10..heehee..Kelvin came over to join me in the midst of the game but he didn't play coz he says he got no luck so dont wanna play.. =x
One of my cousins then suggested going for a movie after dinner..at 1st we wanted to watch CJ7 but its all fully booked with juz the first 2 rows left, so in the end we settled for Kungfu Dunk at CCK Lot 1's Shaw theatre @ 9.30pm since there are seats available..there were 12 of us and so we occupied 1 whole row..pretty impressive ya?..hehe..the show is pretty funny though my bro finds it abit exaggerated..haha
08 Feb (初二)
Went over to Kelvin's side to 拜年 on this day..made our way to his parents' place 1st followed by the 外婆 and then the 婆婆..was quite tiring coz his parents and 外婆 live in the west while the 婆婆 lives in the east..so we travelled from north to west, then east and back to north again, and 1 day is gone like that..hehe..
09 Feb (初三)
Brought my dad to watch 'The Mist' with my bro in the afternoon..the show was quite a disappointment, it has no climax at all and pretty draggy in the middle, and the ending is really...dunno what to say oso..haiz.. -_-
Thereafter, we went over to one of my auntie's house for dinner and to watch the lion dance she hired. After all that was gambling time again!..haha..think that's juz about the only thing we do during the CNY..keke..and we stayed till abt 1am that day..was damn tired after that, hehe..
10 Feb (初四)
Invited my cousins over to my place for lunch..coz they keep complaining that they have not yet seen my place so I thought this will be a good chance to have them over and some aunties came over the join in the fun too.. ordered Canandian pizzas and KFC for lunch and they started to play black jack again -_- seems that its a must-do thing during CNY..haha..they don't seem to get sick of it one lor..haiz..
Well, that's how I spent my CNY..hehe..hope you had fun too..happy birthday and happy v-day in advance! =)
