Hey hey, now operating with my 'new' pair of eyes..keke..rested for a day before using the computer, better take good care since I've spent so much on them.. =p
Ok, went for the operation yesterday in the morning..the appt time is at 9.30am but I gotta be there an hour earlier to prepare my eyes with eye drops to dilate them and stuff..vision gets blurry after being dilated. At about 9.20am, went into a small waiting/resting area to change into the surgical gown and put on the surgical cap, and the nurse helped me to clean my eye area and eyelashes. Continue to apply eye drops for the next 20mins until its time to go in for the operation.
Started to get jittery when I went into the operating theatre and laid on the bed. They put a blanket over my body and stick the gadgets on my body to monitor my heartbeat, blood pressure etc..injected anesthetic at the bottom of my eye sockets, and then they had a piece of cloth over my head with a hole over my right eye, pasted some kind of sticky sheet over my eyes to keep my eyelashes out of the way and placed a gadget over my eye to hold my eyeball in place. Applied some solution and iodine to my eye and thereafter the room lights are switched off with just a bright lamp over me. I was instructed to keep staring at the brightest point of the light and my vision was kinda 'blinded' by the light so I can't really make out what was really happening during the whole operation, only can see some images and ripples when they flushed the eye with water..the whole procedure on my right eye takes abt 10mins max, then moved on to my left eye, which takes a shorter time - abt 5mins coz only my right eye has astig which requires more work when positioning the lens into the eye, whereas for the myopic left eye is easier.
After the operation, felt pretty giddy and was brought to the waiting/resting area where i changed into the gown to rest for 2 hours, and they served my a cup of milo..was starving coz I was not supposed to eat and drink anything before the operation so the milo came juz in time ^-^
When the 2 hours is up, changed back into my clothings and waited for my turn to see the doctor..hubby was already outside waiting for me, think he waited for almost 2hrs coz I told him to arrive between 11.30 - 12pm to pick me up but I'm only out at abt 1.15pm.. =x
Anyway, the doctor checked the postion of the lenses to make sure they are ok and asked the nurse to help me apply the eye drops and I'm done!..hehe, went to the counter to make the final payment and make appt for the 1st review on the following day. Went to take a cab and there was a long queue at the taxi stand, think its coz of the rain that's y so many pple were taking the cab..
Eyes were pretty sensitive to lights for the day and the vision was blurry..religiously applied the eye drops as instructed, being really KS, even applied them throughout the whole of last nite in between my sleep..hehe...
Went for my 1st review this morning..the clinic was packed and so the waiting time was quite long..did some tests on my eyesight and eye pressure before seeing the doc, and doctor says my results are very good for Day 1 given that my degrees are quite high, my myopia and astig are now all gone, just need sometime for the vision to sharpen..so happy!..hehe..my vision now - can see, but still abit blurry for far stuff, will try to rest them as much as possible so they will see clearly soon enough =)
The service at the clinic is pretty good, the staff are all very friendly and the doctor is nice too, very reassuring throughout the operation, so would definitely recommend to friends who are considering lasik or ICL..hehe =)
