Japan trip - Part 4

Day 7
Checked out of the hotel and took the Shinkansen to Tokyo, had our last bento on the train..haha

Took the railway from Tokyo to Hatagaya where our next hotel is located at: Sakura Hotel Hatagaya.

We stayed in the other location, Sakura Hotel Ikebukuro for our previous trip and find it pretty good, so we assumed the one at Hatagaya will be about the same..but it turned out to be not as good and the building is older.. =x

The room is really small, not much space to walk about..had difficulty putting our luggage and stuff we bought subsequently.. =_=

Was already late afternoon when we checked into the hotel so didn't go anywhere and decided to rest in the hotel instead. Went out later in the night to explore the area and had dinner at a small eatery which sells soba and don sets. There was a 24hr supermarket nearby so went in and bought some snacks and drinks back to the hotel.

Saw their strawberries and they look so yummy I couldn't resist!..hehe, and they were really sweet! =)

Day 8
Spent the whole day at Akihabara, the place for electronic appliances and anime merchandise ^^ Did not buy much as yet coz we wanna look ard and compare prices as some stuff can be sold much cheaper in another shop if we looked hard enough..hehe

Went into one of the arcades there and an UFO catcher machine caught my eye..the prize in it are cute cat stuff toys which I am really tempted to have..so hubby decides to try and catch one for me. Wasn't successful in the beginning but after throwing away dunno how many 100yen coins, we managed to catch not 1, not 2, but 8 of them!!..haha..this is the 1st time hubby caught something for me from the UFO catcher machines, in the past was either he did not succeed or I thought it's a waste of money..hehe =p

All 5 of them in different colours =)

The extra 3

All 8 of them, cute rite?..hehe ^^

We were basically doing mostly window shopping there and had our lunch at a sushi bar which hubby said is pretty good during his trip with his friends.

The size of the fish slice in Singapore's Jap restaurant really can't compare =_=

Mid-grade Toro which melted in our mouth, can't imagine what's the high grade one like..heh

Dinner was at an izakaya (居酒屋) called Tsuki No Shizuka which charges 270yen each for every item, food & drinks which is pretty worth it. They have quite alot of outlets in Tokyo which makes it very convenient for us to find. The place requires customers to take off their shoes upon entry and they provide lockers for you to keep your shoes. They have 2 different kind of layout of seats that I know of: seats within an enclosure or the normal open concept dining. Most outlets have touchscreen computers for us to view the menu & order food electronically but we did go to one which doesn't so gotta use hard copy menu & call for service to order our food..heh..and we love their peach soda!! Always have 2 orders of it each for our meals there..haha
